The main factors affecting the abrasion resistance of cement concrete

1. compressive strength
The higher the compressive strength, the lower the wear coefficient.The abrasion resistance of pebble concrete is higher than that of gravel concrete.
This is because the surface of gravel is rough, easy to wear, mortar and gravel between the bonding force is strong, high compressive strength;And pebble, smooth surface is not easy to wear, mortar and aggregate bonding force is small, low compressive strength.Therefore, pebble concrete has high abrasion resistance.The cohesive force of gravel is large, difficult to pull out, but easy to be flattened.Overall consideration, even if the wear coefficient is slightly larger, gravel can be more suitable for high wear resistance of concrete.
2. Maximum particle size of aggregate
As the aggregate is pulled out of the concrete, the abrasion continues, and the sand and gravel in the holes turn due to the high-speed water flow, so that the concrete is washed and dug, and the safety of the structure itself is affected by the defect damage.Therefore, the selection of the maximum particle size of coarse aggregate is very important.
When the cement content and water-binder ratio of unilateral concrete are constant, the wear coefficient will also change with the change of Dmax.Regardless of the amount of unilateral cement, the wear coefficient is the lowest when Dmax is 25mm.The lower the compressive strength is, the easier the mortar part is to weaken, and the concrete with less cement is more obvious
3. sand ratio
When sand rate is low, coarse aggregate occupies a large area, and when concrete strength is low, its wear-resisting performance is assumed by coarse aggregate, which is beneficial to wear-resisting.
